Your Network Is the Backbone of Your Business. We Build It Right.
From structured cabling and wireless infrastructure to firewall configuration and cloud connectivity, Ashton designs and maintains networks built for the way SMBs actually operate.
When Your Network Fails, Everything Fails.
Most businesses don't think about their network until it stops working. Slow connectivity kills productivity. Dropped VPN connections frustrate remote workers. A misconfigured firewall is an open door for attackers. And an overloaded wireless network makes a conference room feel like a job hazard.
Ashton designs and manages network infrastructure that's built for performance, security, and scalability, so it never becomes the problem. We've built everything from single-office SMB networks to multi-site manufacturing environments and even outdoor festival networks covering 140 acres. Whatever your environment looks like, we've got you covered.
Designed for Your Environment
Every network we build is scoped to your specific physical space, user count, and performance requirements. No generic configurations.
Security Built In
Security isn't an add-on — it's part of every network we design, from VLAN segmentation to firewall policy and wireless access controls.
Managed Ongoing
We monitor, maintain, and document your network so that when something changes (or goes sideways), we're already on it.
Network Design & Infrastructure
Structured Cabling | Switching | Routing
Infrastructure That Performs Under Pressure.
A solid network starts with solid physical infrastructure. Ashton designs and installs structured cabling, switching, and routing configurations built for your environment — whether that's a single office, a multi-floor building, or a distributed multi-site operation. We work with enterprise-grade equipment from vendors including Ubiquiti and build configurations that are both high-performing and thoroughly documented.
- Network assessment and design
- Structured cabling (Cat6, fiber)
- Core and edge switching
- Router and routing protocol configuration
- VLAN design and segmentation
- Network documentation
Wireless Networking
Enterprise WiFi | Ubiquiti UniFi
Wireless That Works Everywhere — Even the Difficult Spots.
Wireless coverage is harder than it looks, especially in large facilities, multi-floor offices, or complex physical environments. Ashton performs proper wireless site surveys and designs coverage patterns that eliminate dead zones, manage device density, and segment traffic appropriately. We work with Ubiquiti's UniFi platform for most deployments — powerful, cost-effective, and built for the kind of enterprise-grade management our clients need.
- Wireless site survey and coverage design
- Access point selection and placement
- SSID and VLAN configuration
- Guest network setup and isolation
- Bandwidth management
- Ubiquiti UniFi deployment and management
Firewall & Security
Perimeter Security | Next-Gen Firewalls
Your Firewall Is Your First Line of Defense. Is It Configured Right?
A firewall that's installed but misconfigured is barely better than no firewall at all. Ashton deploys, configures, and manages next-generation firewalls with policies that reflect actual security best practices — not factory defaults. We implement content filtering, intrusion prevention, VPN configuration, and traffic inspection so your perimeter is genuinely protecting what's behind it.
- Next-generation firewall procurement and installation
- Security policy configuration
- Content and application filtering
- Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
- VPN configuration (site-to-site and remote access)
- Ongoing firewall management and policy review
Cloud & Connectivity
Hybrid Cloud | ISP Management | SD-WAN
Connecting Your People, Wherever They Are.
Modern businesses need reliable connectivity between offices, remote workers, cloud applications, and data centers. Ashton helps design and implement connectivity solutions that make all of this work seamlessly: ISP selection and redundancy planning, SD-WAN for multi-site operations, Azure and hybrid cloud connectivity, and remote access solutions that are secure without being painful to use.
- ISP assessment and redundancy planning
- SD-WAN design and deployment
- Azure / hybrid cloud connectivity
- VPN infrastructure (site-to-site and user VPN)
- Remote work connectivity optimization
- Bandwidth monitoring and QoS
What Separates a Network That Performs from One That Just Runs
Most business networks were never properly designed. They grew over time, accommodated new devices as they appeared, and accumulated configurations that nobody fully documented. Here is what doing it right actually looks like.
Documentation Is What Makes Support Fast
Ashton maintains detailed, up-to-date documentation for every network we manage, so engineers can resolve issues quickly without first reverse-engineering your environment. This turns troubleshooting from guesswork into precise diagnosis, shortens downtime, and makes staff changes or provider transitions smooth instead of disruptive.
Networks Designed to Support Security, Not Work Against It
Your network is the base of your security, not just a way to connect devices. Ashton designs networks with security built in—using VLAN segmentation, tailored firewall policies, and isolated guest and IoT segments—so that if one area is compromised, the threat is contained instead of spreading across your entire environment.
A Network That Grows With Your Business
Most network issues come from designs that have not kept up with business growth, not from bad hardware. Ashton designs networks with future growth in mind—choosing scalable platforms, building in headroom, and documenting the architecture—so expansions, new locations, and changes can be added cleanly instead of forcing a full rebuild.
Networking Questions We Hear Most
How do I know if my network needs an upgrade?
Slow speeds, frequent disconnections, WiFi dead zones, difficulty supporting remote workers, or an inability to handle current device counts are all signs. A network assessment from Ashton will tell you exactly where the gaps are.
Do you recommend specific networking vendors?
We're vendor-agnostic but have strong partnerships and expertise with Ubiquiti (particularly UniFi for wireless and switching), Sophos (firewalls), and others depending on the environment and requirements.
Can you support our remote workers?
Yes — we design and support VPN infrastructure, remote desktop environments, and cloud connectivity solutions that make remote work secure and reliable. We can also assess home office setups for key employees.
What is network segmentation and why does it matter?
Network segmentation means dividing your network into separate zones (using VLANs) so that different types of traffic and devices are isolated from each other. This limits the damage a breach can do — if an attacker gets into one segment, they can't automatically move through the whole network.
Do you handle ISP coordination?
Yes. We help clients evaluate and select ISPs, coordinate installations, and manage ISP relationships. We can also design redundant connectivity configurations so that if one connection fails, your business stays online.
Can you support our manufacturing/OT environment?
Yes. Ashton has experience in manufacturing environments where OT and IT networks need to coexist safely. We understand the unique security and segmentation requirements of industrial environments and can design solutions that protect both.
