Way back in December, when I was still with my previous company, I was invited to travel to Lakeside, OH, to give a presentation during their technology week. We bounced around a few ideas, and settled on the idea of social media. The date for the presentation? July 8. As it turns out, I left my previous employer on May 30, and didn’t want to leave Lakeside hanging, so I convinced the power that is (notice, I didn’t references the ‘powers that be’) at Ashton, that this was still a great opportunity. We don’t offer social media, but I know a lot about it, and it’s a great way to continue to spread the word about Ashton, who we are, and what we do (and don’t do).

Any business that’s looking to grow and prosper needs to properly market themselves. It might be through word of mouth, direct mail, social media, tv/radio/print advertising, online, or even the Yellow Pages, but it has to be done. If you don’t market your business, how do you expect to grow it? Ashton Technology Solutions has been around since 1994 (originally as The Ashton Group, and since 2005 with our current name), and we’ve marketed ourselves through various channels; corporate newsletters, company websites, traditional marketing collateral, and the list goes on. Clearly, we’ve met with some level of success, or we wouldn’t have lasted for 20 years. That said, a lot of opportunity still exists.
